Searching for Relics

There's a lot of stuff in the galaxy. Stuff is cool. Feel free to make up your own cool stuff. It's a huge galaxy. You're welcome to make up everything if you feel like it. This includes relics that are "known throughout the galaxy". If you search around on this site, you might find a story that includes a relic called the Chi' Tannaron, "the most powerful weapon in the universe"...to our knowledge. It's something the GM made up. As were the Rhodes Star and the Maximon Key. Make up your own armor, weapons, ships, optical enhancement units, etc. as long as they aren't too advanced for the time. For example, nobody had created a cloning system or a Death Star 25,000 years before A New Hope. But it's not that big of a deal if you make up a 7D+2 blaster that "never really existed" [in the Star Wars universe] or isn't in an official sourcebook.

Sending your players after a relic opens up endless doors for you to do cool stuff and get them into fights and let them make money. They'll have to bargain with people to get info from them. They could run into some authorities, maybe get captured once or twice, blow some stuff up, get their relic. Then they'd have to protect the thing until they get their reward. You could really scare them after they get their treasured bauble. Let 'em get their reward (or punishment) and throw a twist in there afterward with what the relic was supposed to be used for. Retrieval missions can often be more fun than search and destroy missions.
