Commander Fenula Miresuvey led a mission to retrieve information from an
Imperial satellite base, but the mission was cut short due to Imperial
entanglements. She did, however, escape the base to join the fleet, while
rescuing a not-too-bright Aqualish New Republic spy named Borkum
Riff.
Upon arriving back on Endor, she visited her boyfriend, a two-year-long
commitment, and found another woman with him in his apartment. She knocked
the woman unconscious and abruptly left when her now ex-boyfriend pulled
a blaster on her in defense of his new acquaintance.
She was later called to General Jurgis Melan's
office and was assigned to a mission on the planet Chaltrand. She was to
take with her Borkum Riff and Gond Helmock,
an obese mechanic who didn't shower often enough, and follow the rumor
of the Empire planning to initiate Kar 'Boq the Hutt as a Moff, and prevent
it from occuring. Fenula objected to the incompetence she had
to work with on such a delicate mission, but couldn't sway General
Melan's decision, and was informed of three other spies already
on their way that would contact her upon arrival. Fenula worked out at
the gym, letting out frustration and anger, when she was given wise but
ignored words from a green-skinned admirer, a person she assumed was experienced in ways of the Force based on his appearance, though she didn't care.
The next day, the New Republic supplied the team with more than enough
equipment and they were on their way with pilot, Roc
Benson flying them to Chaltrand. Fenula became fond of Roc and began
to dislike Borkum and Gond more and more. Upon
arrival on Chaltrand, Roc left to join the awaiting fleet back on Endor.
The remaining members of the team explored the poor run-down city before
arriving at Kar 'Boq's palace. They were dressed in formal clothes for
this was a high-class environment. They registered for admittance and received
the lowest level of clearance possible. After taking much criticism, Fenula
wound up rooming with Gond and Borkum was next door with a very strange
character.
After a bit of exploring, they were later greeted by a green-skinned man
in a blue robe. Fenula recognized him as the man from the gym. She
never liked him. He knew who they were and offered to help them on their
mission. They all agreed, but Fenula still didn't like him. He said he
had a friend who would also help, so they agreed to meet and discuss the
situation. That night, Fenula, Gond, and Borkum met the green-skinned assumed Jedi,
Gem, and his Wookiee friend, Nercawa.
However, Nercawa became heavily intoxicated and offended Fenula, who stormed
back to her quarters.
The next day, Gem stopped by and informed the team that they should apply
for a clearance promotion. They did so, all except Borkum, who was missing.
Their promotion was granted and what was left of the team did further
exploring of the palace. It was more of a casino than a palace, but they
speculated carefully. A strange man kept distracting
everyone as he investigated the
botannical displays while saying, "Lizards!" Fenula observed and discovered
that there were well-camouflaged lizards in the displays.
Gem arranged dinner that night with Nercawa, Fenula, and Gond--this time
without as much alcohol. After discussion of the necessity
of assassinating Kar 'Boq somehow, the group split up and Fenula stayed
at the table, where a Shistavenan Wolfman harassed her, resulting in a
palace guard arresting him and his acquaintance. A smooth, seductive man
named Armiss approached Fenula after this
little scene and, seeing she was a powerful woman and handled the situation
very maturely and brave-heartedly, he offered her a job working for Kar
'Boq himself. Of course Fenula accepted, not quite knowing what she was
getting herself into, but not being foolish enough to turn up the best
seat in the house for information.
She was taken upstairs
and given a uniform. She was to dance for Kar 'Boq
all day with three other dancers. This
wasn't quite what she expected but it would do. And she still liked Armiss,
though it was a detestible position he had offered her. So she danced all
day while Armiss made small transactions with Kar 'Boq and his translator
droid Tehnn, a loud
and obnoxious droid. Fenula listened carefully as Armiss told Tehnn that
security systems were malfunctioning and the head of maintenance was missing.
Fenula thought maybe Tehnn was the "brains" of this operation and mistranslated
Kar 'Boq's orders, twisting them to his wishes.
However, during her stay there on the eighth floor Fenula learned a little
of the Huttese language and proved her theory wrong. And when Tehnn and
the rest of the dancers got into a little squabble,
Fenula damaged one of Tehnn's optical sensors and he had to be sent down
to maintenance for repairs. However, Tehnn returned, still broken, due
to the lack of time for the mechanics to work on him. They were working
on the security systems. Luckilly, Kar 'Boq laughed at Tehnn's
misfortune.
Fenula had told the other dancers about her mission and they wanted to
help. Also during her stay with Kar 'Boq, Fenula met a Twi'lek named Kurbis,
a man working for Kar 'Boq as a businessman of some sort. He was one of
the New Republic spies with
whom she was to meet. While faking an intimate moment backstage and through
communication between Kurbis and another Twi'lek dancer's headtails, Kurbis
told her that one of the spies had been captured. He also told her of the
time when the Imperials and crime lord, Kashgaar, were arriving and that
Kar 'Boq's initiation would take place on a Star Destroyer above Chaltrand
two days after that. Fenula told Kurbis of
Gem and Kurbis ran off. Something had to be
wrong. Fenula was right in not liking him. She continued to spy on Armiss,
Tehnn, and Kar 'Boq, gathering bits of information about the initiation.
Two nights before the supposed arrival of the Imperials, a holovid projection
introduced by Armiss was the night's entertainment. It pictured an Aqualish,
Borkum in fact, and a human, the other New Republic spy, running through a wooded area and eventually to a swamp. The human was attacked and killed by some creature, but the satellite connection was lost before Borkum's fate was sealed.
On the night before the supposed arrival of the Imperials, the four dancers,
while taking a break, devised a test for Armiss. Armiss didn't seem to
like working for Kar 'Boq, but it was good enough for him. He had seemed
to like Fenula best and cared for her as if possibly before himself. So
Sally, a Twi'lek dancer, decided to give her life to free Fenula. She stole
a blaster from someone in the room and chased after Fenula. Armiss then
shot Sally and took Fenula to his room to comfort her. While Armiss prepared her something to drink, Fenula thumbed through a book and a datapad, discovering that the head engineer was a man named Gemini, but was in the
process of being deleted from the records.
One thing led to another and Fenula and Armiss wound up in bed together.
Early that morning, Fenula explored Armiss' computer and found more incriminating evidence on Gem. She was worried that her whole mission was falling apart because Gond trusted Gem. And that Nercawa? Who knows whose side he's on?
And was Borkum dead?
That's when Armiss awoke and admitted to Fenula that Kar 'Boq was becoming
Moff in exchange for the plans for a superweapon that he lied about having
in his possession. Armiss was tired of working for Kar 'Boq, who had turned
the whole planet of Chaltrand into a wasteland since he assassinated Admiral
Zim Turpin, the former leader of the once peaceful planet. Kar 'Boq had
made Armiss' life miserable and Armiss wanted the best for the people of
Chaltrand but didn't have enough confidence to stand up to Kar 'Boq. Kashgaar
would take Kar 'Boq's place. And next in line were Gem and Armiss. There
was too much to do. Fenula, however, convinced Armiss to join the quest
for a better galaxy and assured him that when he became the leader of Chaltrand,
he was welcome to join the New Republic. Armiss gave Fenula her clothes
back and led her downstairs. He told her he'd get in touch with her somehow
later that day and that he loved her. Fenula returned the love as the elevator
doors closed. Fenula then ran back to her quarters and tried to convince Gond that Gem
was not on their side.
When Fenula arrived, she found Gond asleep and a bunch of wookiee hair in her bag
beneath her bed. Nercawa. Everything was there though. She pushed the rage away and
woke Gond explaining her point of view but not telling that she was a dancer for Kar 'Boq
and that she slept with Armiss. Gond didn't believe it and tried to go back to sleep.
Just then, there was a knock on the door. Fenula answered and Gem, Borkum, and Nercawa
entered the room. There was a big argument, a battle of wits, changes in perception, anger,
frustration, and Gond began to think Fenula was right. Borkum still sided with Gem and Nercawa
did the same. Gem told the group that they would storm up to the roof and get on a shuttle to
the Star Destroyer when the time comes. Gem eventually was granted the right to leave the room
and did so with Nercawa and Borkum.
